Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players try to gain points by making a ball hit the ground on the opposing team's side while simultaneously keeping the ball from hitting the ground on their side.
The game is played within a rectangle court, an elevated net is positioned across the center of the court that acts as a barrier between the competing teams.

Trivia

• The ball is usually played with the hands or arms, but players can legally strike or push (short contact) the ball with any part of the body.
