Aomori

Aomori is the northern-most prefecture of Japan's main island, Honshu.

A volcanic mountain range, known as the Hakkōda Mountains, lie to the south of Aomori city which are prevy to heavy snowfall that makes them a prime destination for backcountry and mountain skiers.
